Friendship Dangles

I was commissioned to make a commemorative piece of glass to mark a special time in someone’s life. I made a big, visual map of life in glass, featuring all those special people we meet along life’s journey.

Before I knew where I was, a new product was born: my Friendship Dangles. They feature layers of coloured glass, some transparent, some opaque, and they represent the many facets of a friendship, and the depth that relationship may develop into.

Friendship Dangles are about 3 inches in diameter, and as with everything I make, no two are the same. They are tactile, colourful, and unique, to reflect the many different types of friend and family relationships we develop throughout our lives.  They hang from a stainless steel wire, making them suitable for hanging inside or outside, perhaps in a patio or from a nice spot in the garden.

As the light bounces off them, or they move in the air, the colours will twinkle and shine. They are uplifting and bright. They look good individually, or amazing in groups. You could give one to a friend, or group them – maybe a different one for every member of your family. Or you might just like to have one for yourself, perhaps to remember someone special.

I’m loving having them hanging around in the studio, and I hope you like them too. You’ll find them for sale on my website, or you can come and choose one personally from the Forge.

Some dangles waiting to be finished with their hanging wire.
